Yellow Jessamine

One of the most aromatic plants in the Maritime hammock forest is Yellow jessamine. A climbing perennial vine, Yellow jessamine blooms in early February and its heavy scented trumpet shaped flowers herald the arrival of spring. As tempting as it may be, do not pick these flowers; they are poinsonous. Their beauty provides enjoyment for all as winter edges into spring.
