About Beavers.

This is a beaver. They live in family groups, and bear live young. They are the largest rodent in the US.

They have very small eyes, and are mostly nocturnal. This means they are mostly active at night.

Anatomy Of A Beaver

Beavers back feet are webbed for swimming
They have very small ears (The better to hear you with my dear)
They have a very small rounded nose and whiskers (The better to smell you with my dear)

And they have large orange teeth. (The better to chomp on trees with my dear) Did you know that beavers lips are behind their teeth so they can close their mouths when they're chopping down trees? It's true.

Anatomy Of A Beaver

Beavers have large, scaley, flat, paddle shaped tails that they use to slap the water to warn other beavers of danger or to stay out of their territories. They also use the tail to aid in swimming, and to pack down the mud they use to build their lodges.
Beavers front feet are not webbed and they have 5 toes. This helps them to grasp sticks and things better.
Beavers have very coarse thick fur to keep them dry in the water.
Beavers have nagging wives to wake them up when strange people are staring at them and taking multiple photos while they try to sleep.
